The Panamanian International Film Festival in Los Angeles (PIFF/LA) was created to cast a spotlight on the emerging film industry in Panama and to create exchanges and networking opportunities with the film industry in the U.S.  PIFF/LA features works by established and emerging Latinx filmmakers from Panama, the US and around the globe, including work in both English and Spanish.

The festival has evolved into a celebration of cinema, culture and community and is known as PANAFEST in recognition of its inclusive spirit emphasizing Latina filmmakers, LGBTQ filmmakers, students and others. Genres include features, shorts, docs and more. Additionally, PANAFEST weaves in visual and performance arts.

This year PANAFEST 2021 returns as a live event on October 8 through 10 at Hollywood’s Raleigh Studios! The 7th Edition of the Festival will return to live screenings, panel discussions and live arts events. PIFFLA is supported in part by the California Arts Council and is supported by the LA Times en Español. PIFF/LA is also joining forces with The East Los Angeles Society of Film and Arts (TELASOFA) in a co-producing venture.
